Wings of a Raven, Chapter 4 by ~shadow-down:iconshadow-down:

Of course, I attempted to struggle against the ropes binding me. To no avail. My arms were pinned tightly behind my back and my wings were mushed between me and the forementioned ropes. Brilliant. I was getting furious because of how easily someone had captured me. After I calmed down a little, I took in new surroundings. I was residing inside some sort of room that resembled a huge metal coffin. It had a science-labby feel to it.
A very tall bald man was walking towards me. He was wearing a black leather coat, as long as he was, that was swaying like there was wind in the room. There wasn't, obviously. Another thing - he had very 'clunky' footsteps. Y'know, like he weighed a ton. Yet, he was fairly lean. The mind boggles.
He was holding some sort of syringe that looked more like a weapon. An injection gun? The clear plastic tubing, dramatically exposed for my horror, contained a pale red solution with a much darker red bubble floating dead centre. Something at the back of my mind told me it was an embryo of some sorts. Whatever. I just want to break this creep's neck.
The baldie slowly moved the device toward my neck. The glistening needle pierced my flash and I winced in pain.
Then, the sound of heavy rain.
In a cold sweat, my eyes snapped open and I gasped. That was the fifth time I had that dream. Each time, that ugly mug had gotten closer to injecting me with that red crap. Only now had the needle actually gone into my neck.
Groaning, I raised myself from the matress and felt an urge to eat. Breakfast. Deciding that I couldn't live off crackers and dip, I grabbed a fistful of notes, stuffed them into the back pocket of my jeans and took off into the morning rain. I intented to travel to the nearest town and stock up. It just so turned out that my luck was strong that day. I found a small, quiet town with a brightly coloured shop of some description. Time to go shopping...
